The Buildings

Highbury Gardens consists of robust, well-built, energy efficient buildings which, combined with the traditional architectural language that Porphyrios has brought to the project, ensures it has been designed for longevity both physically and culturally. The development meets best practice sustainability goals and achieves Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3.

The buildings have been articulated by a series of discrete volumes that create an enclosed, secure, landscaped courtyard.  The buildings adopt a residential language that echos the best of Islington’s most valued properties. London stock brick, stone, render painted in shades of cream and off-white and metalwork on balconies have been used throughout the buildings. These traditional materials will stand the test of time, and combine to reenergize the best of traditional London architecture.  All of the chosen materials have been selected to weather well and moreover, improve with time.
